Premier’s Reading Challenge
The 2025 Premiers Reading Challenge reading period began on the 6th of May. To complete the challenge students in Prep – Year 2 need to read or experience 20 books, students in Year 3 and Year 4 need to read 20 books, and students in Year 5 and Year 6 need to read 15 books (this number of books acknowledges that older students are more likely to select longer and more complex books).
Each student will receive a reading recording sheet from their class teacher and additional recording sheets are available at the library. Students have until August to complete the challenge.
National Simultaneous Storytime
Students in all year levels are welcome to join in with the 25th annual National Simultaneous Storytime event on the 21st of May during first break at the Library. Students are welcome to visit the display at the Library during first break throughout this celebration week in May and are invited to join in with our celebration activities.
May is National Family Reading Month
This year is the 29th year of National Family Reading Month which celebrates and encourages families reading together. Why not take the 31 Day Family Reading Challenge? To participate in the 31 Day Family Reading Challenge simply read for a minimum of 10 minutes each day and mark the day’s reading on the record chart. The reading record chart is available from the Library and is also included below. Students who return their completed reading chart will receive a certificate of participation and will go into the draw to win one of 10 prizes.
Have a great week!
