Pine Rivers District Trials
It’s been a busy start for district sport this year, and already almost every trial has happened. Please carefully read the dates below for any upcoming district trials. If your child is interested in any of the trials listed, they should have already shown their interest by writing their name along with their date of birth and sport of interest on my sports notices board in the CSA. Alternatively, students and parents are welcome to come see me in person, with any questions, or can visit the Pine Rivers District School Sport webpage (link below). This webpage has all the information that students should need to know about each trial including dates, forms, news, policies, brochures, and is updated frequently.

District Athletics Carnival – Wrap up
Well done and congratulations to the 32 students who represented our school at the 10-12 YRS Pine Rivers District Athletics Carnival last week. The weather was nice to our athletes, team managers and officials who did our school very proud. In just two days, staff and students from twenty-seven colleges and primary schools came together to compete, encourage each other, be inspired and find the four best athletes in each track and field event. With so many schools and students competing at this carnival, it made for some outstanding performances and a very large field of athletes.
A big congratulations to Cruz A. who came second in his age group for the 800 race. Cruz will now represent the district at the Metropolitan North Regional Trials on the 4th and 5th of June. We wish Cruz all the very best in his event. Some other excellent results from our team of athletes include, Matilda G. who came 8th place in Discus and 11th in Shot Put, Koby L. finished 11th in his Discus event, Lucy S. only just missed out on a spot in the district team and came 5th in Long Jump, Emily W. got a 7th place for Discus, and both Alfie and Freddie W. came 5th in Discus. Well done to each and every one of our students who did their best. It is always wonderful to see so many of our students interested and eager to represent our school at a district level. I hope to see even more students be a part of our Athletics team next year. If any students from the team wishes to find out their results from the carnival, a full list of results has been pinned up on the Sport Notices board in the CSA.
Finally, a special thank you to our hardworking groundsman, Mr Briskey who arrived at 6:30am at the venue to secure our school a perfect spot for our tent and had everything set up and packed down for us each day. Mrs Cassell for her endless work in selecting our athletics team, sorting through paperwork and being one of our fabulous team managers, and last but not least, Chappy Cam who was there two days in a row, supporting and organising our team of athletes. Thank you for all that you do and keeping sport alive in our school community.
PE Class of the Week
For those that haven’t heard yet, every week one class is selected to be presented with a trophy and certificate of recognition for being the best class in PE. This week the PE trophy and award went to 4B. The students in this class have greatly improved their effort, enthusiasm and concentration in PE, and now I’m looking to see if any other class can do better. Well done 4B!
