Deputy's News
Well it is certainly a time for our creative Dayboro State School students to shine throughout this term. We have events coming up that will show case the amazing musical skills of many of our students. We love to celebrate and highlight all the different talents and hard work that takes place in our school including creative, sports and academic.
Music – Night of Stars
Next Tuesday, 5th November at 5:30pm in the hall will see our instrumental band students and our musical cast perform a number of items to show case the skills they have learnt throughout the year.
Our instrumental students will perform their chosen pieces as a whole band, in small groups and individually.
Our musical cast will perform their opening song ‘We are monsters’ and will end the night singing ‘Jingle Bells’ accompanied by the band.
The night is open to our whole school community.
Conversation Club Visit
We are privileged once again to be invited to perform for Dayboro’s Conversation Club on the 7th November. Our musical cast will perform a number from our up and coming musical ‘We are Monsters’ and will stay for morning tea and conversation with special members of our community. The students are so excited and lucky to have this opportunity to share their musical talent with the wider school community.
Dayboro Musical Production – We are Monsters
Time is drawing closer to our two-night production of ‘We are Monsters’. The crew have been busily preparing props, posters, hall set up, cues, lighting and more. Our cast have been busy working on their lines, choreography and vocals. It is a hub of activity at each rehearsal with every student being challenged, creative and giving it their all.
Tickets for our musical will go on sale next week. There will be two performances – Thursday 28th November and Friday 29th November. Please come and support our students as they tell you a theatrical story about friendship and acceptance.

Dayboro State School Lunchtime Clubs
We are VERY LUCKY at DSS to have teachers who run exciting and engaging lunchtime clubs each term. While some of our clubs have stopped at the moment while swimming is on, there are plenty of fun things to do at lunch times at DSS.
Walk for Daniel Morcombe
Last Friday we participated in Walk for Daniel – a day where we remember Daniel Morcombe, raise awareness of child safety in Dayboro and teach our students ways to Recognise, React and Report to danger. We want to thank every member of our community who came out in red to walk through our little town and take a stand for the safety of our children.
But child safety is not something we just focus on around this time of year – it is every day. Please take the time each week to have open discussions with your children about safety. The more our children feel comfortable about talking about safety issues, the more likely they are to respond to them appropriately and openly communicate with you about their feelings and experiences.
