Library and Maker Space News

Library News

Welcome back for Term 4.  I hope everyone had a chance to do some reading over the break – I can’t wait to hear about any new and amazing books that students have read during the holidays.  Remember that students are welcome to make suggestions or requests for book titles to be added to our Library collection.  Students in Year 4, 5, and 6 also have access to the Education Queensland digital library (using Sora on the iPads) which they to use during breaks to read additional books, graphic novels, and audio books.

Maker Space

This week we are celebrating all things Bluey in the maker space.  Students are able to create Bluey grannies or learn how to draw blue following step by step instructions.  There is also an opportunity for students to create their own Bob Bilby digital scrapbook page – we would love to print these pages and create a collaborative scrapbook for students to read.  Some students have tried using the iPads to create a Bluey stop-motion animation.  A selection of the school’s Bluey books are on display for students to read during the breaks.

Have a great week!

Book Club

Book Club for Term 4 is currently open for ordering.  This will be the final opportunity to order from Book Club in 2024.  Brochures will be distributed to students in the coming days.  Families are welcome to view the latest issue of Book Club on line.

It is easy to order. The Book Club LOOP platform for parents allows you to pay by credit card. Your child’s order is submitted directly to school and the books will be delivered to their class. You can place your child’s order at scholastic.com.au/loop, or using the LOOP app, which can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play.  Alternatively, named order forms with payment can be handed in at the school office.  All orders placed through Book Club help to earn free reading books for the school library.
