Deputy's News
Welcome back to term 3 families.
Term 3 is an exciting time of year when we really start to see our students make deeper connections with their learning and start to apply what they have learnt so far in more complex situations and across different learning areas. I can’t wait to see students continue to thrive, challenge themselves, learn from their mistakes and get out of their comfort zones to learn new things and have a go!
Positive Behaviour for Learning - PBL
This week, our explicit teaching of positive behaviour is in ‘All settings’. This is where we will explicitly teach in class how to Be Safe, Be Respectful and Be a Learner in all the different settings of our school environment.
Dayboro Learner
Our Dayboro Learner Focus is ‘Cocoa the Communicator’ for this week and next week. There are many ways we can become effective communicators and we will be looking for these qualities in class over the next two weeks:

Playgroup
There will be no playgroup for the first 3 weeks of this term due to the Junior Sports Carnival occurring on Friday in week 2 and our 150 Years School Celebration on Friday in week 3.
Dayboro State School Lunchtime Clubs
We are VERY LUCKY at DSS to have teachers who run exciting and engaging lunchtime clubs each term. We have Gardening Club starting up each Friday, this term, with Mrs Mackintosh where they will plan and re-vamp the different gardens around our school to make it even more beautiful.
Dance Fever
Woohooo!!! It’s time for students to get their dance shoes on and participate in Dance Fever starting this Thursday, 11/7/24. It is always SO MUCH fun with the best music in town and I can’t wait to boogie with the kids each Thursday in the hall. Parents, please make sure payment has been made and your child has brought back their permission note.
Have a great week
Mrs Mathiesen
