Engaging students in Writing
It has been wonderful to see all of our students this term super engaged in narratives. From our Preppies who are sharing stories and making connections through to Year 5 who are writing the first chapter of a Fantasy novel. Year 6 students are writing an imaginative short story about a character who faces a conflict.
Our Year 4 students are writing a new chapter for Rohl Dahl’s - The Twits. They have been fully engaged in learning about the success criteria they need to include or show in their writing. Look at how they are working to identify the success criteria in an 'A' sample of work in preparation for changing this sample to a 'B' then a 'C'. By doing this, our students deepen their understanding of using explicit criteria in their writing, and learn what will help them to bump up their writing. Well done year 4!!!
Senior Cross Country
We are super excited about our Senior Cross-Country carnival next Tuesday morning. Mrs Marks has explained the program below. The students have been learning about cross country running and having a go at the course and many of our Year 4-6 students have been attending the trainings offered. It is super to see how engaged our students are in fitness.
Next Tuesday, Year 3-6 students will wear their sports polos representing their houses and will definitely need a drink bottle that day. Parents are very welcome to comealong and cheer as the students have a go and put their learning into action.
We will be celebrating the participation of all our students; Year 3-6 place holders will be acknowledged with ribbons. All students will receive a fruit ice block as a congratulations courtesy of the P&C. Thanks P&C!!!!
Prep-Year 2 students will participate in a junior carnival next term when it is cooler.
