P&C News

On behalf of the P&C, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all our Dayboro State School families.  Whether you are returning or new to our school community, it can be both exciting and a little overwhelming for everyone.  The P&C is made up of a group of fellow parents and we will endeavour to work with the school to help you all during this time of transitioning back in to school routines.

Who are we?

For those who are new to our school community, the P&C is a dedicated group made up of parents, staff and community members who volunteer their time to enhance the school experience for every student.  Throughout the year, we arrange and host a variety of events, including social, learning and fundraising activities, all aimed at benefiting our students.  We also operate two key services within the school, the Uniform Shop and Tuckshop.

Last year was the first year in some time where we have had a full committee.  If you see any of us around the school, please feel free to say hi!  We look forward to getting to know you all throughout the year.

School 24

If you are a Prep parent or new to the school, you will need to register for School24.

This is where you will be able to place uniform orders, tuckshop orders and volunteer for upcoming events at the school.

I have attached a How To Register guide for School24 which gives you a step by step guide for registering.  If you have any troubles, please do not hesitate to get in touch with the school office or a P&C member.

The Dayboro Tuckerbox (Open Wednesdays and Fridays)

Our Tuckshop operates on a Wednesday and Friday for both 1st and 2nd break and is run by our Tuckshop Covenor, Alison Hibberd.  We greatly rely on our parent and community volunteers to work alongside Alison in the tuckshop.  Don’t worry, you don’t need any prior experience, we will teach you everything you need to know.  Jump on to the School24 volunteer roster and see if there are any dates that you may be able to assist.  Even one shift per term would be amazing!

The tuckshop will be open for orders from Week 2.  You can order your tuckshop directly through School24, or alternatively you can drop off your paper bag with a hand written order and money to the tuckshop on Wednesday and/or Friday morning.

Prep students will have their orders delivered to the Prep classrooms, all other students will have a class representative collect the class orders to be distributed.

Uniform Shop (Open Thursdays 8.30am-9.00am)

Uniforms can either be ordered online through School24, or purchased in person on a Thursday morning.

Any online orders that have been placed during the week will be packed every Thursday morning and taken to the School office.  You will receive an email when your order has been packed and ready to be collected.

Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities

We have a couple of events and tuckshop days coming up and would love some support from our parents.  If you can assist with any of these days, please register your name on School24, we would love to see you there.

  1. Prep Welcome BBQ: To welcome our new Prep parents to our community, we will be hosting a BBQ in the prep area. If you could spare some time to jump behind the BBQ we would be forever grateful.
  2. Family Fun Day @ The Dayboro Pool: On Sunday, 4th February we will be hosting a Family Fun Day to raise money for the school swimming program.  We have set up 2 x 2.5 hr shifts and would love as much support as possible to ensure a fun day for all.  If you would be happy to supervise some lawn games or sizzle a sausage, please register on School24.
  3. Tuckshop (Wednesday, 31st January): We are still looking for 1 x more volunteer to make some yummy toasted sandwiches.
  4. Tuckshop (Friday, 2nd February): We are still looking for 2 x more volunteers to work alongside Alison.

Next Meeting:  Monday, 12th February 2024

AGM:  Monday, 11th March 2024

Our P&C meet on the second Monday of every month, both in person and online.  It is a great opportunity to get to know Mrs Douglas and Mrs Ryan, along with other parents and community members who are all committed to the continued improvement of our school.

If you would like to come along, please contact Johanna at secretary@dayboropandc.org.au.  We would love to see you there.

Kind regards,

Rhiannon Fealy
