Deputy's News
Dear Families and Friends
A big welcome back to all our returning and new families to Dayboro school this year. 2024 is already off to an excellent start with our “Meet and Greet” session
Welcome also to our new Student Leaders for 2024. We wish them all the best for the year ahead and their leadership journey.
Finally, a reminder that our School Vision is “To inspire students to reach their full potential in a safe, caring and educationally challenging environment.” Our staff and students are committed to this vision and we are looking forward to a great year of learning and growth for all our students!
In 2024 we also continue to embrace our values of
“Be respectful, be responsible, be positive, be tolerant, be proud and be kind.”
Dayboro State School Behaviour Expectations (School-Wide)
Below are our whole school expectations. Our staff work very hard to appreciate and acknowledge positive behaviours in our school and these expectations are what we look for! Parents too can help support our staff by reading these through with your children and also positively acknowledging their choices.
INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC NEWS
Instrumental Music Lessons will now be on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Look out for more information in the coming weeks. Mr Yates will email details to parents shortly.
It is very hot so please remember that it is an expectation that all children wear hats during
play times and PE lessons.
The rule is “No Hat, no Play!”
Children that do not wear hats are expected to be in the CSA areas during break times.
SWIMMING – Years 2 and 4.
Year 2 and 4 will be swimming in first term again this year. We changed this last year. This decision was made because of the move of NAPLAN to Term 1 in the year now. This directly affects the Year 3’s and as there are 5 weeks of swimming lessons it was decided it would be best to move them to the end of the year so as not to interrupt their learning. Classes 2B, 2D, 4A, 4B will be swimming from Week 4 until Week 8. They will swim every Thursday and Friday for a 1/2hr lesson for 5 weeks. Notes and invoices will be sent home next week. The cost will be approx.. $100. These lessons are an important part of our curriculum and all students are expected to attend.
The Year 2’s in 2/3C will swim at the end of the year with their class.
A big thank you to our hard- working P&C for providing the tissues and tea at our welcome get together on Monday after school drop off. It was lovely to see so many parents enjoy meeting others and chatting about the first morning of school.
Thank you Mrs Ryan!
Our Vision: “To inspire students to reach their full potential in a safe, caring and educationally challenging environment.”
