Special Education News
Welcome Mrs T
We welcome Mrs Alicia Tavelardis (Mrs T), as SEP Teacher, to Dayboro SS. Alicia is an experienced Special Education Teacher who works across two local schools. She will be working at Dayboro SS on Monday and Tuesday. Alicia is replacing Mrs Carmel Bridger, who is currently on leave. Students and parents, please make Mrs T welcome by saying “Hi” to her around the school or popping into the SEP on Monday or Tuesday. We are located next to the LEAP room.
Allergy reminder
Dayboro SS supports students diagnosed with anaphylaxis or at risk of anaphylaxis and uses a range of strategies to reduce allergens in school.
We have one student in Year 4 with NUT allergy and ask parents in Year 4 not to send any nut containing products in lunchboxes. Parents in other grades are kindly requested to refrain from sending nuts also. This is not a ban, but a strategy put into place to reduce the chance of a student at risk of anaphylaxis coming into contact with their allergen. Some of our strategies include: not sharing food, handwashing and education for students and community members.
Further information on Anaphylaxis Management can be found here:
Thanking you,
Tracey and Alicia
