Deputy's News
Dear Families and Friends
COMMUNITY
Well, the term and year is almost over……
As always at this time of year, I am again reminded of my favourite quote:
“Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.” Helen Keller
At Dayboro how lucky are we that our community looks out for, supports and values our school and staff and that the community partnerships we nurture and appreciate help drive improved outcomes for our students and add to the caring safe and supportive school environment we provide! WOW! Of course, there are many people working busily behind the scenes making sure that our students don’t miss out on anything. Many thanks to our, Uniform, Tuckshop- Dayboro Tuckerbox and P&C helpers who contribute so much and have worked so hard to make sure some of our favourite events like the Colour Run and Father’s Day and Mother’s Day stalls happen. Chaplaincy, Story Dogs (Thanks Leesa and Humphrey), our local Kindies, Sgt Ken and the Sheriff’s Awards, our Emergency Services who visit for Under 8’s and Fire Education for Yr 1, our local MP , Ms Boyd and the list goes on!!!! You all help to make a difference and contribute to the success of our students in so many areas.
Also, while Dayboro students continued to shine academically this year and excelled in a range of extra-curricular pursuits, what continues to define our students is their excellent commitment to the values and behaviour codes of our school. The support of parents is also highly important in ensuring our expectations around being safe, respectful and learners are constantly upheld. So .......Thank you students and parents for making Dayboro a great school!
Finally …. I could not do an end of year Newsletter without personally thanking our Student Leaders and the other Yr 6 students who have been invaluable in the journey at Dayboro this year- thank you to Archie, Dakota, Ella and Tilly as well as all the Yr 6 Sports and Music leaders and cohort. Thank you all for your helpfulness and responsible ways. All of you really do demonstrate and model for others Responsibility, Safety and Learning in so many ways but most of all you are wonderful humans and I wish you all the best for your future at High School. You will all shine!!!
Junior Swimming Showcase
Last Friday we had our Junior Swimming Showcase for Prep Year 1 and Year 2’s . It was a fun filed morning of kickboard, noodle and mat races followed by 25M races for Freestyle and Backstroke. A big thank you ton Mr D and the teachers for coordinating and a huge thank you to our Year 5 and 6 Sports Captains and School Captains for assisting in the pool.
