Welcome 2024 Prep Parents

We would like to extend a warm welcome to the Prep 2024 parents who are now receiving our newsletters.  We appreciate that there is a lot to take in during this exciting time but please know, that we are here to help.

I have included some (hopefully) helpful guides to get you started.

• Register for School 24. Through this platform you can order your uniforms, tuckshop, and access the volunteer register.
• Stop by the Uniform Shop on Thursdays 8.30-9.30am if you need any help with sizing

• Become a member of the P&C, it really is a fantastic way to stay across everything that is happening in our school, to have a say and to meet other parents. Don’t worry, signing up does not mean that you are expected to be at every meeting or event.

A Successful Leap Forward with Grants and Upgrades

We are thrilled to announce that Elise secured a grant from the 2023 Community Bank Samford & Pine Rivers Grants Program that will enable us to replace the tuckshop's aging oven.

The new oven will not only enhance efficiency in the tuckshop but also open up opportunities to provide more fresh, wholesome food to our students and Dayboro State School team.

Equipment such as this does not come cheap and we are so grateful to Elise for securing this $9680.00 grant, and to Katherine for sourcing numerous quotes and meeting with suppliers to determine what would work best in our Dayboro Tuckerbox.

What a wonderful way to end the year!

Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities

As we move into the final weeks of the school year, we have several tuckshop days, working bees and events that are in need of your valuable volunteer support. Please consider joining us for the following activities:

1. Tuckshop (Friday, 17^th November): Our most popular tuckshop day of the week, we are still looking for 1 x more volunteer.
2. Oval Shed Working Bee (8.30am Sunday, 19^th November): Our P&C shed on the oval is in need of a clean up after the colour run, we would love some help to clean down some equipment and to organise remaining stock.
3. Tuckshop (Wednesday, 29^th November): Can you help make some toasted sandwiches? We are still looking for 2 x volunteers. 
4. Christmas Disco (Friday, 1^st December): Join us for an evening of disco lights and dancing. We would love some help to either set up from 2-3pm, or on the night. Please have a look at the different options on the School24 volunteer register. 
5. Tuckshop Stocktake and Clean (8.30am-10.30am or 10.30am-12.30pm Tuesday 5^th December)

Our tuckshop will be closed this week to enable a deep clean and stocktake, any help would be amazing!

To sign up for any of these upcoming events, please log on to the Volunteer Roster on School 24 and register your attendance.

Uniform Shop

The Uniform Shop is open every Thursday 8.30am – 9.30am and will remain open as normal until the end of term.  Orders can still be placed through school24 and will be left at the office for collection.

Last orders for the year will be packed on Thursday Week 10, so please get any orders in before than as we will be doing stocktake after this date and will not be processing any new orders until the new year.

2024 Planning

Thank you to everyone who attended our last meeting of the year on Monday.  As we close out another exciting year at Dayboro State School, we are already looking ahead and planning for 2024.

As we finalise our Operation Plan for 2024, we look forward to sharing our goals for next year with you all and how you can get involved.
