World Staff Day and Thank you to our P&C!

On Friday, our Dayboro staff team celebrated Queensland’s World Teachers’ Day as World Staff Day. Our student leaders celebrated, our amazing staff members, speaking beautifully about the dedication and care that our staff show. We awarded all of our staff members with gratitude certificates and also commemorated several staff for milestone commemorations of service with our Department of Education.

A huge thank you to the P&C and community for generously providing our staff with morning and afternoon tea. We all felt super spoilt and it reminded us how lucky we are to work at Dayboro State School!

Congratulations to our DSS First Lego League teams

On Saturday, two teams of Year 5 and 6 students, 9 students in total, represented Dayboro State School at the First Lego League competition. Mrs Wilkinson has been coaching our Robotics club each Friday afternoon and many, many lunch times. Both the Destroyers and the Dominator teams received great scores and positive feedback and showed fantastic team work skills.  The Destroyers had a PB score and worked super well together. The Dominators team were awarded the Innovation Project Award. The judges loved their idea to share horse riding experiences with people who have disabilities through the robotics. All of the students are to be congratulated for their positive attitude, resilience and participation in all aspects of the competition throughout the day.

A huge thank you to Mrs Wilkinson for all of her coaching and to Mrs Blair, Mrs O'Dwyer and Mrs Mackintosh for also supporting on the day as judges and also chaperones.

Transitions and Planning for 2024

Today we welcomed our Preppies for 2024 for a transition morning in Prep. They experienced the Prep environment and got to know some of our wonderful Prep staff. Our current Prep students enjoyed a morning transitioning to Year 1. They visited the Year 1 classrooms and were helped along in their learning by the current Year 1 students!

We are currently trying to plan effectively for new enrolments, facilities, resources and staffing for the 2024 school year. Please ensure that you contact our school administration team if your child/ren are not returning to Dayboro SS in 2024. Thank you for your support.
