DISTRICT CROSS COUNTRY
The Pine Rivers District Cross Country trials were held on Friday 5th of April. All students participating were very excited to be there and even though the weather looked gloomy, it ended up being an amazing day.
The Dayboro team have been training since the start of the year for this event, with nine making it through to qualifying. We can applaud Dayboro students and their families for their team spirit and kindness to all teams competing. The encouragement they gave competitors, as they ran past the crowd, was wonderful to see.
This event has anywhere from 80-120 competitors in some races but nothing could dull the Dayboro spirit to get in there and give it a go. To make it home in the first eight and gain selection for the Pine Rivers District team is certainly a great achievement and 2 of our students achieved this.
Congratulations to Cruz 5H for coming 1st and Rohnan 5H for coming 7th in the 10 years boys; Zaisha 6C for coming 10th (second reserve) in the 11 years girls; Cruz and Rohnan will be competing (and Zaisha eagerly waiting for a call up) in the Metropolitan North Cross Country at St Pauls School, Bald Hills on Tuesday 28th of June 2019. We wish them the very best of luck!
It really was amazing to see how many people turned up to show their support for our students. Thank you to all parents who helped with transport on the day and supporting the team.
