Congratulations to the students who entered our recent Speedy Sloth colouring in competition.  As there were so many wonderful entries, we decided to award prizes for each year level in the lower school.  Well done everyone, we hope you enjoy your new sloth pens.

Readers Cup Competition

Congratulations to our two Readers Cup teams who participated in this annual reading competition on June 5th.  While there were some very tricky questions in this year’s competition, both of our teams performed well.  This year was the biggest year yet for our region, with a total of 44 teams representing schools from across northern Brisbane.  A very big thank you to the parents who were able to assist with transportation to and from the competition, your support is invaluable.

Overdue Books Reminder

All students in year levels from Prep – Year 3 are reminded that all of their Library books are now due to be returned before the holiday break.  Students in Year 4 – Year 6 are able to borrow books over the holiday break, but all overdue books need to be returned before the end of term.  Thank you to the family members who help to look for these overdue books.

We have a substantial number of books that were borrowed by students in Term 1 that still need to be returned.  Due to the length of time that these books have been on loan they are now considered missing.  Students have been given multiple reminders about these books.  Families will be invoiced to replace these missing books if they haven’t been returned by the end of this term.

Book Week

Our annual celebration of children’s literature takes place next term from August 19th – 25th.  This year’s theme is “Read, Grow, Inspire”.

We will hold our annual Book Week Character Costume Parade on Wednesday August 23rd ( during Book Week).  We have also booked Meerkat Productions to present dramatized versions of two of the books which have been nominated for prizes during Book Week.
