Chappy's News
Hello everyone!
I hope everyone is enjoying the rain (I’ve heard a few people say they’re keen for their dam to fill up a bit!). There’s lots of things to catch you up on this fortnight so let’s get to it:
Chappy Day - 22nd May – Chappy Day is next Monday! As you hopefully know by now, your children can order subway for lunch to celebrate. The cut off to order is this Thursday morning at 9am. So make sure you order by Wednesday (today!) to avoid missing out. There will be a handball tournament at first break which children have signed up to compete in, with great prizes from Rebel sport for the first 3 places. At both first and second break, there will also be “9 square in the air” on the lower oval and “Gaga Ball” in the school hall to choose from.
Rock and Water – Kindness is cool! This week we are talking about kindness. We want the children to start to think about others and the effect their words and actions can have. We want the children to also think about the way they talk to themselves – their thought life. Are they kind to themselves? What is their inner voice like? The goal is for them to build on their ability to empathise with others.
Dayboro Local Chaplaincy Committee – if you are interested in volunteering to help out with any chaplaincy events at school, please send me an e-mail. You may also be interested in attending committee meetings or even joining the team. We meet once a term to organise and plan what I will be focusing on each term. This is a great way for parents to have input into what they’d like to be contributed to the school through this program.
SUPA Club – We have our next SUPA club on Friday 26th May. Please note that permission slips need to be returned before students attend. You can get one of these from the office or from myself. See the flyer below for further details on what we are learning.
Dayboro Day – this year the Dayboro chaplaincy committee is holding a raffle to be drawn towards the end of Dayboro Day. First prize is a brand new 20 inch Lightforce brand Light Bar. 2nd and 3rd prize are to be announced. These light bars are good quality, Australian made lights that make driving on dark country roads at night much safer! You can use the QR codes on the flyer below to purchase either 1 ticket for $1 or 10 tickets for $8. You’ve got to be in it to win it so make sure you get yours. Entries are open now!
If you have any questions or need support in any way I have lots of practical resources available. Please feel free contact me at:
