Helping Hands

What’s happening at before and after school care 27 03 2019

Ph 0459 991 697

This week children have begun learning about a growth mindset and how to achieve this. Children have started to receive before going to school a small affirmation to carry them throughout their day. This will help develop confidence and resilience among children. Children have also held discussions around diversity thanks to Harmony Day last week. Miss Mele has begun creating a paper chain with the children to include their names on a piece of paper to display at the service. Musical instruments continue to be popular this week with children creating music with the organ and bongos. Outdoor games such as basketball, red rover, soccer and skipping continue to be favourites among children.

As we have had some new educators and new families starting this year, we have decided to use the newsletter as an opportunity to introduce and familiarise educators with the school community. First up, is Miss Katie.

Miss Katie joined the Dayboro team in 2017 and is currently in her second year studying a Bachelor of Primary Education. Miss Katie strongly enjoys being engaging in outdoor play with the children and strives to make each session as fun as possible for children. Miss Katie currently works at the service every day apart from Thursdays and is qualified to co-ordinate the service when required.

Our afternoons have been filling up very fast and we currently have a waiting list for some afternoons. We still have a handful of spaces every morning, so if you are interested in booking your child/ren in please see below on how to do this to secure your spot. If you need to change your bookings or your needs have changed, this can also be done on the iParent Portal. One of our friendly team will be happy to assist you if there are any issues with this process.

Homework club runs from 4:30-5:00pm Monday-Thursdays. Please let one of our friendly team know if you would like your child to be included in this.

We welcome all new families to the service, Helping Hands Dayboro requires online enrolment forms to be completed before attending the service. Online bookings and enrolments can be made through the iParent Portal which can be access through the Helping Hands Network site by selecting Dayboro as your service and signing up following the prompts. If you have any issues, please contact Katie at the service on 0459 991 697 or our customer accounts on 1300 612 462
