Successful Learners!
We are passionate at Dayboro State School to ensure that our students are successful learners! Our Explicit Improvement Agenda (EIA) specifically is focussed on Excellence in teaching and learning and Equity, ensuring all of our students have access to learning including support and extension opportunities:
When recently reviewing our key priorities in our Annual Improvement Plan which is written to achieve our EIA, to check we are on track, our staff have celebrated the following in regards to or student learning:
- Our Student Council are promoting student voice by gathering their peers ideas and discussing them as a team to help improve our school
- Our students are celebrating difference and tolerance, by talking about important events such as Go Blue for Autism, Sorry Day and reconciliation week.
- Our teachers are using student voice in their classrooms activities by promoting collaborative learning activities where students learn together
- Staff have extended their professional learning on the use of digital assistive technologies to support students and enhance intervention strategies for students who experience reading and spelling difficulties through SPELD
- We have been seeking opportunities to extend our students’ thinking by planning for inquiry learning in Science to challenge students to think about creative ways to show their learning. We’ve also offered extracurricular options such as optiminds and readers cup as ways for students to extend students’ critical thinking skills
We will continue to work hard to achieve Excellence and Equity at Dayboro. Have a look at some of the amazing learning our students and staff have done this semester:

A reminder that we are working on ensuring great attendance from our students to ensure thy have the best possible chance at success. Please see this infographic about the impact of absences or short days on learning:
Chappy Day Monday!
On Monday 22 May, we will celebrate Chappy Day! We appreciate our Chappy Rach and all that she brings to our community including her listening hear for our students and our staff, engaging clubs that excite our students, attending many excursions and incursions supporting students, helping out with learning in our classrooms, welcoming children at the gate each morning and ensuring that SUPA club is an amazing after school club.
To celebrate Chappy Day, Chappy has organised some
fun games, a handball comp and a Subway meal deal for our students and staff. All money raised will go towards our chaplaincy program which directly benefits our students!
Thank you to our P&C!!!
This Friday is P&C Day, a time to recognise our hardworking P&C Members. On Monday, at parade, our student leaders will formally thank our P&C members for all that they do for our school community.
If you see one of our P&C members on Friday, please ensure that you show your appreciation!
Road Safety Week!
A reminder that it is National Road Safety week this week. Our crossing supervisors are wearing the yellow ribbon to show their support and help educate our community.
Our teachers will discuss this important event with our students. Let’s keep our community safe by educating our children to obey the road rules and encouraging children to use our crossings when crossing the road.
