Chappy's News

Hello everyone!

I hope everyone had a lovely Easter break. I got to hang out with some of the Dayboro kids at the Moreton Bay Sports Camp in the first week of the holidays.  We had so much fun! It was pretty much 3 days of non-stop sport and games. Some highlights were learning basketball from the Moreton Bay Suns, learning hip hop from a professional dancer and a rugby league skills session lead by the  Dayboro Cowboys! Shoutout to parent and Cowboys secretary Alex Scaroni who helped to organise this. I’m already looking forward to next year.

Rock and Water

Starts again in week 2. Some Year 2 students will also be participating in the program this term. Please return your permission slips as soon as you can. We will continue our work using games to help students increase their body awareness and practice self-regulation.

SUPA Club

Starts up again next Friday afternoon, 28 April. See the flyer below for details. Looking forward to seeing everyone! Please note that permission slips need to be returned before students attend. You can get one of these from the office or from myself.

Movie Night

The Dayboro Lions recently put on their movie night with funds raised going to chaplaincy here at school. A big thank you to the parents and students who came to help out with the sausage sizzle and snow cones. Also a big thank you to the Lions and Mrs Costelloe for their support.

Another big thankyou to everyone who came along to or helped out at the breakfast celebration on the last day of Term 1. You guys rock! The coffee cart organised by parent Johanna Sheehan and her family was amazing, wasn’t it? So good!

I always so encouraged by the amazing generosity and community spirit I have experienced here. I couldn’t do it without my wonderful helpers. Keep it up, Dayboro!!

Lunch clubs

Lunch clubs are back on this term. I am quite excited about a new one – the Year 6 girls painting club! Check out these photos from our first meeting last term. One of our students, Bronte Hambridge, lead the group in painting these landscapes. She did a great job! I’m looking forward to learning lots from this group of creative kids.

If you have any questions or need support in any way, I have lots of practical resources available. Please feel free contact me at:

Have a great week
