Library and Maker Space News
We are now in the last two weeks of the term. Please ensure all overdue books are returned to the Library before the school holidays.
Book Club Thank You
Thank you to all of the families who supported our recent issue of Book Club. When families purchase a book through Book Club or Book Fair is raises funds (through rewards points) with Scholastic which the school Library can use to purchase additional reading books for our students. Our display books this week were all purchased with rewards points earned at the end of last year – we have quite a few students who are eagerly waiting to borrow the Pokemon books.
Readers Cup Competition
Ten students from Year 5 and Year 6 have nominated to participate in the annual Readers Cup Competition. Readers Cup is a reading competition organised by the Queensland Branch of the Children's Book Council of Australia. This year’s regional competition will be held at Kurwongbah State School in June.
Students in each team are required to read 5 novels to prepare for the competition. Students will be issued with their books to begin reading in Week 10 of this term. On the day of competition there are several rounds of questions with teams working together to provide answers. These rounds of questions can be quite challenging – there are a lot of details to remember! We wish all of the Readers Cup students the very best as they prepare for the competition.
Maker Space
Maker space is always busy, but it just got a little louder. We have had students asking for a while for some sets of stacking cups that can be used in speed stacking competitions. They are already starting to look quite coordinated with the 3-3-3 stacking challenge, next step is the 3-6-3 stacking challenge. When they have mastered the stacking patterns, we’ll start timing their stacking trials. We can’t wait to see how fast they can stack!

Book Fair
Book Fair is on the way!
Book Fair is set to begin on April 28th and will run until May 10th.
Keep an eye out for further information coming home after the school holidays. In the meantime families are more able to preview some of the exciting books that will be available at Book Fair.
