P&C Dynamic Committee!
Thank you to everyone who attended our P&C AGM last week! It was wonderful to see so many attendees both in person and online at our first face to face meeting since 2019. It was wonderful to see the collaboration in the room as we planned for the 2023 committee!
Congratulations our new executive committee:
President – Rhiannon Fealy

Can I express my sincere appreciation to two of our long serving executive committee members? Mia Gillies and Joanna Herricane who have been our P&C secretary and treasurer, respectively have worked for many years to support our P&C in a leadership role. They are committed to continue to support the P&C in a member role and I am sure will be some wise voices for several years to come. Thank you for all the time and effort you have put into serving our community ladies!
And our P&C support roles:
Fundraising and Events – Andrew Purcell, Lucinda Harris, Laura Jagersma and Stephanie Schlencker
Technology/Systems – Nathan Oldfield
Social Media coordinator – Natalie Cotte
Grant Writer – Alyce Strange
Tuckshop and Uniform Co-ordinator – Alison Hibbert
It’s not too late, if you would like to join the P&C, please read their section below in the newsletter to register your nomination to be a member of the committee.
We are fortunate to have many other members on our committee and we are super excited about how we will move forward this year to support the amazing children and community at Dayboro State School. Please look out for the shout outs for volunteers to help at the various community events throughout the year. Many hands make light work!
Cross Country Success!
We were excited to see the students’ participation in the cross-country events last week. It was wonderful to see so many parents and family members there to cheer on our little runners The children’s smiles and whoops of achievement were a testament to their engagement in the event. Thank you to Mrs Marks for preparing the children so well for the event through the many trial runs and coaching opportunities. Our staff and the parents who volunteered on the day did an amazing job at supporting and encouraging our students to have a go!
Thank you to the P&C and Helping Hands for providing the ice blocks for our students. These were super refreshing at the end of the day!
We always ask for any feedback after events, please send may feedback directly to me at gdoug7@eq.edu.au and I will collate to review when making decisions about events for the future.

Parent Teacher Conferences
Building parent partnerships is so important for setting our students up for success this year. Our teachers have worked hard to prepare for these conferences to provide you with details of how your child/ren have settles and are engaged in learning. The teachers are also wanting to hear from you about your child, their strengths and how you believe they are engaged in school so that they can work together with you to set up a great learning environment for your child.
If you have been unable to book in a conference, please contact your child’s teachers for a phone conference or maybe a catch up in the next term. Please let us know any feedback about this term’s Parent teacher Conferences to help us when we are making decisions about next semesters conferences by emailing gdoug7@eq.edu.au.
Parent Calendar for Term 2
Term 2 will be upon us before we know it! Please see below our Parent Calendar for Term 2, 2023 with all of our major events, excursions, incursions and activities to date. We always welcome parent participation, so hopefully with notice, families are able to prioritise when needed to attend events.
Can I take this opportunity to thank you for your contribution and partnership this term? The staff at Dayboro have been so pleased with the start our students have had to the year and participation by families in our opportunities for partnerships….Parent Information Sessions, P&C meetings and Parent teacher Conferences. We know if we continue to work together, we will be achieving the best outcomes for our students! Thank you and have a wonderful and safe Easter break.
Have a great week! Gabrielle
