Australian Reading Hour
Australian Reading Hour is this Thursday 9th March. We would like to encourage everyone to set aside an hour for reading on the day. You can read whatever you like, wherever you like. For more information visit the Australian Reading Hour website. We’d love to see photos of you joining in!

World Book Day
Last Thursday we celebrated World Book Day. The emphasis of this day is on reading for pleasure. This year we combined this day with a celebration of fairy tales – students were encouraged to read some of our traditional (and not so traditional) stories and then participate in a fairy tale character scavenger hunt or book bingo challenge.
Congratulations to the students who participated in the Book Bingo Challenge for World Book Day! It was very interesting to see which books were published in the year you were born and who your favourite authors were. Enjoy your prizes. ?
Maker Space
We have had a few donations of cardboard boxes, plastic times and ribbon donated to the maker space in the last couple of weeks. A very big thank you to these families – the students who make regular use of our space were very excited to see so many different types of boxes available for their inventions.
Book Club
Brochures for Term 1 Book Club have been distributed to students and can also be viewed online. In this issue you'll find award-winning books and bestsellers, as well as old and new favourites. The books included in this issue span a wide range of children’s reading levels and interests with prices starting at just $3.
It is easy to order. The Book Club LOOP platform for parents allows you to pay by credit card. Your child’s order is submitted directly to school and the books will be delivered to their class. You can place your child’s order at scholastic.com.au/loop or by using the LOOP app, which can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play. Alternatively, order forms with payment can be handed in at the school office. All orders placed through Book Club help to earn free reading books for the school library.
Orders are due on the 17th of March.
Have a great week!
