Principal's News

How do we work on high impact teaching strategies to support all of our students?

As our Explicit Improvement Agenda this year, we have been working towards sharing teaching strategies to support our students to understand how they are going with their learning and how they can improve. Our wonderful teachers have set up their learning environments with the students to include specific tools for the students to use in their learning.

When Karen and I have been visiting classes, it has been wonderful to see how the students are engaging with their learning walls and contributing their ideas to share with their classmates. Our teachers are also discussing with students how they can also use these learning walls to get feedback on how they are going with their learning. Why not have a chat to your child about the earning environment they are setting up with their teacher.

Cross Country

We are super excited about our Cross-Country carnival next Tuesday morning. Mrs Marks has explained the program below. The students have been learning about cross country running and having a go at the course and many of our Year 4-6 students have been attending the trainings offered which is super to see how engaged our students are in fitness.

Students will wear their sports polos representing their houses and will definitely need a drink bottle that day. Parents are very welcome to come to cheer along, as the students have a go at putting their learning into action.

We will be celebrating the participation of all Prep-Year 2 students and Year 3-6 will be acknowledged with place getter ribbons. All students will receive a fruit ice block as a congratulations courtesy of the P&C. Thanks P&C!!!!

Every Day Counts towards learning!!

We are well into our crucial learning for semester 1. It is so important that all students attend every day and stay the whole day at school. Regular school attendance gives students a better chance at life. Our students achieve better when they go to school all day, every school day because:

  • they have increased access to learning opportunities
  • they maintain friendships
  • they stay connected to the curriculum progression
  • they develop self-efficacy as a learner
  • they have better long-term life outcomes.

To help your child to be the best learner they can be and socially connected to their friends, please ensure that, unless your child is unwell, they attend every day and remain at school for the whole day. Important learning areas are still covered in our afternoon sessions. Thank you for your dedication!
