Chappy's News
Hi everyone,
Thank you to everyone who came along to Pancake Day! We raised around $350 towards chaplaincy at Dayboro. We have lots of left over mix and syrup so stay tuned for information on when our next one which will be next term! Speaking of pancakes, last Thursday I got the chance to go along to the Chappy Pancake Breakfast at Bray Park SHS. It was so great to catch up with some of the Year 6’s from last year! They seem to be doing really well in Year 7.
Rock and Water
This term we are focusing on building self-confidence. As you know, this is something we all need in order to choose an appropriate responses to all types of life situations. Standing strong like a rock when it comes to your values and self esteem is important. Feel confident of your best qualities are and using them to compliment the strength of others means you are able to go with the flow, like water. It has been heart-warming to see the students to reflect on the best parts of themselves. We think they are all great in their own unique ways!
SUPA Club
SUPA Club has been going great! We seem to have a bunch of new kids every week. This term we have been hearing about the lives of some of our teachers. I wonder who our next special guest speaker will be? See you in the hall next Friday (3 March) to find out! If you haven’t been before, please get a signed permission slip from me first – you can request this from me.
Moreton Bay Sports Camp 2023
I am helping to direct a sports themed day camp being held in the first week of the school holidays. Check out the flyer below for details on how to come along. We are hoping to offer a shuttle bus service from Lawnton State School to the camp at North Lakes and back.
This fortnight I have felt challenged to take time every day to sit quietly - without my phone or any distractions – just being fully present in the moment. It’s so easy to always be busy – especially in the middle of a school term! I do know though, that if I don’t take that time to be still, I can start to feel extra tense and stressed. I think a lot of us probably feel that way. So maybe you can take the time this week to intentionally be still (even if all you can get is 2 minutes!) and see if it makes a difference. ?
