Robotics Success
After many, many hours of preparation our two First Lego League teams competed at their regional competition on the 29th of October at Suncoast Christian College. Judging for the competition is based on several aspects. In addition to designing and coding a robot to complete challenges as part of a robot game (played over three rounds), teams also needed to present a researched innovation project to a panel of judges.
Both teams worked positively throughout all stages of the competition, demonstrating Gracious Professionalism, one of FLL’s Core Values, and resilience.
The Dayboro Dominators team were finalists in the Core Values aspect of the competition and both teams placed in the top 4 for their overall scores for the robot game. The Dayboro Dominators team now progresses through to the State Competition for First Lego League to be held at Rothwell in November. We wish them every success as they continue to prepare for this level of the competition.

Maker Space
Students have been busy with a character identification challenge over the last week. Fifteen familiar picture book characters were disguised by costumes – the only clue to the identity of each of the characters were their feet. Well done to the students who were able to correctly identify each of the characters and earn a prize.
We have also had a variety of crafting and robotics activities available for students during the lunch breaks in the maker space. We love seeing their creativity!

Have a great week!
