Library and Maker Space News
Makerspace
Our Lego robotics club has continued to meet on Monday afternoons after school. We now have two teams of students working industriously to prepare for the upcoming First Lego League competition on the 29th of October at Woombye. The other students in our robotics club are preparing for their own competition to be held here at school. They are using the competition mat from First Lego League 2021 to code their robots to complete as many challenges as possible in two and a half minutes.
Library News
We are very excited to see some new furnishings being delivered to the Library. Over the holiday break we had some new seating delivered. This area is a space for students to read and play games with friends. We are anticipating the arrival of some new shelving in the next few weeks for our Junior Fiction area.
Students visiting the Library for borrowing have had lots of new books to choose from. Last week we showcased new books with a dog theme for all reading levels and this week we have new magic themed books.
Keep an eye out over the next few weeks for information about the annual Summer Reading Club challenge. The aim of the program is to keep children engaged in reading throughout the end of year holiday break.
Have a great week!
Mrs Wilkinson.
