Readers Cup
Well done to the Year 5 and Year 6 students who participated in the annual Readers Cup competition last week. Students actually began their preparation for this competition back in Term 1. The students were required to read five novels for this competition, remembering as many details as they could from these books in order to answer questions. The teams worked collaboratively through five rounds of questioning on the day of the competition. Both of our teams performed well throughout the competition and are to be commended for their level of preparation and their enthusiasm.
New Books
We have been busy ordering new books for our Library collection with the money raised at our recent Book Fair and the books have started arriving at school. The titles included in this first order were a hit with students from across the school (especially the “Bad Guys” and Anh Do books! ?) .
Overdue Library Books
A reminder for all students to return their overdue Library books as quickly as possible.
Premier’s Reading Challenge
The Premier’s Reading Challenge for 2022 is underway. To complete the challenge students in Prep – Year 4 need to read 20 books, and students in Year 5 and Year 6 need to read 15 books. Reading record sheets are available from class teachers and from the Library.
Have a great week!
