Principal's News

Dear Parents and Caregivers

School Crossing Concerns

The Department of Transport have raised concerns with me regarding motorists not following the correct procedures at our school crossing. Could I please remind everyone of the following rules regarding school crossings:-

  • The School Crossing Supervisors are only permitted to cross pedestrians when the vehicles are stopped at the designated stop bars, not past them.

  • Secondly, drivers must wait until all pedestrians AND the School Crossing Supervisor have left the road before moving their vehicle.

Thank you to everyone for your co-operation with this.  Safety is always the priority in our school community.

Prep Enrolments -2023

GDrum_Prep_poster.jpg

We are already receiving enquiries about our Prep program for 2023. We are pleased to provide information and enrolment information anytime at our school office.  However, I am able to advise that our Prep Information and Enrolment Morning will be held on Wednesday 17 August at 9.30am in our School Hall.

If you have a child born between 1 July 2017 – 30 June 2018, he/she is eligible for Prep enrolment at Dayboro State School in 2023. Please note that Dayboro State School has an Enrolment Management Plan in place – please check at http://education.qld.gov.au/schools/catchment/ for further information.

We have had several enquiries regarding enrolling at Dayboro Prep from outside the catchment area. Families who view Dayboro as their school of choice are very welcome to submit an enrolment application, however the outcome of the application will not be advised until late October when available places are allocated in the order of receipt.

I would be pleased if this information could be circulated to people who are known to you and are wishing to enrol in our Prep program in 2023.

The school winter vacation commences next Friday 24 June. Term 3 commences on Monday 11 July. Enjoy a happy and safe holiday.
